During the State of the Union, President Trump touted his crackdown on illegal immigration that he claimed unleashed a flood of criminals into the United States during the Biden administration and has now been brought to a halt thanks to his policies.
Deportations have ramped up under Trump as the administration has sent immigration agents to cities across the U.S. in search of people in the country illegally. Border crossings have also plummeted since Trump took office in what he argues is a vital step in making the country safer.
The administration has said repeatedly that it is deporting the “worst of the worst” and focusing on people who have been convicted or are accused of committing crimes.
