If you thought folding a fitted sheet is hard, imagine trying to crack the code of how DNA molecules fold in our cells?! The tightly wound 3D structure of DNA is critical to understanding how cells mature during development, for example to make functional heart vs brain cells. A collaboration between researchers Bogdann Bintu, Quan Zhu, Neil Chi and Yvonne Fondufe-Mittendorf uses high tech imaging to visualize the answer to this big question in biology.
