Meet Utz Ermel from the CZ Imaging Institute. He’s using a VR headset to add labels to detailed 3D images of the protein structures inside cells. These labels help other scientists make use of these images, making it easier to study how cells function and how diseases affect them. The Imaging Institute is dedicated to helping researchers explore the mysteries of cells more effectively. Their new CryoET Data Portal allows scientists to upload, access and use valuable data—like these high resolution, 3D images of cells—to better understand human health.
