We are currently providing emergency housing for 45 women and children. We shared three stories publicly. There are dozens more we cannot share due to extreme safety risks and confidentiality. Some of these women whisper on the phone. Some delete our number immediately after calling. Some are fasting while hiding bruises. Ramadan is a month of mercy. We are taught that the devils are restrained. But abusers are not. While many of us gather for iftar, some women are calculating the safest way to leave.
