127 years ago, the U.S’ first juvenile court was established in Chicago with the purpose of rehabilitating young people rather than just punishing them. We recognized a long time ago that children are fundamentally different from adults, though sometimes today, we seem to forget this truth.⁠ ⁠ Our approach here at LCCR has always been and will always be a holistic one aimed at keeping children in safe spaces with developmentally appropriate support.
