Ibarra-Perez, King Promoted at SMU Men’s Soccer SMU men’s soccer has promoted Jaime Ibarra-Perez and Michael King to associate head coach, as announced by head coach Kevin Hudson. Both have played key roles in a historic stretch for the Mustangs, highlighted by the program’s first-ever ACC Championship and an NCAA quarterfinal run the season prior. Ibarra-Perez has served as assistant and goalkeeping coach for the past two seasons, guiding SMU goalkeepers to 14 clean sheets. A former Mustang, he started 57 matches from 2010–2013 and earned Conference USA Player of the Year honors in 2012. King has been on staff since 2021 as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, helping SMU capture the 2023 AAC regular-season title. As a player, King was part of the 2016 Sweet 16 team and helped anchor defenses that produced 20 shutouts during his career. #smu #smumustangs #texas
