Happy Women’s History Month! 💐 Today we’re highlighting WomensRightsNPS in New York, which preserves the site of the first national Women’s Rights Convention as well as the homes of several influential women’s rights leaders. Here, in 1848, hundreds of women and men gathered in 1848 to share a vision of equality and launch the organized movement for women’s rights in the United States. In 1993 and 1996, National Park Trust donated funds to acquire two properties within the park connected to Elizabeth Cady Stanton, a founding leader of the women’s rights movement. Sites like these remind us of the determination and strength of those who fought for the freedoms we enjoy today.
