Florida State’s spring practices are right around the corner, and the program is looking to bounce back from only recording seven wins in two years. Head football coach Mike Norvell will be tasked with the play calling duties in 2026 after coordinator Gus Malzahn unexpectedly retired. The fan base has seen how Norvell operates his offenses, and typically the tight end position is a vital piece in how it operates. The Seminoles saw tight end Randy Pittman Jr. enter the transfer portal and sign with SMU, who Florida State will play at home on Labor Day Night. The program didn’t panic and ensure that they were able to retain junior tight end Landen Thomas, who was a former four-star prospect from the 2024 cycle.
