Bare knuckle boxing has become the fastest growing combat sport over the past decade, with the number of official bouts increasing from just 21 in 2015 to more than 1,000 last year. Despite appearing to be more brutal and bloody, supporters of the sport say it is safer than gloved boxing. Critics want it banned. With shows now streamed online internationally, it’s attracting big name professional fighters. So is the extreme becoming mainstream? Is bare knuckle boxing safe?
