It was an afternoon filled with reflection and gratitude. ❤️ Fifteen heart attack survivors reunited with the doctors, nurses, and clinical teams who saved their lives at a special luncheon. The event was held in recognition of American Heart Month. All the patients were treated in the cardiac catheterization lab at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center. Each experienced a STEMI—one of the most serious and often fatal types of heart attack. Last year alone, 173 patients received this lifesaving care. “There’s not enough opportunity to say thank you to all of you for everything that you've done,” said survivor Christopher Butcher.
