So many people. One team. A lifetime of impact. That last photo? A round window. Roughly 2 mm in diameter. Two millimeters. And behind it… access to sound, auditory language, connection, possibility. At SENTAC, I had the chance to stand on a stage and thank the people who make moments like this possible - ENT surgeons, audiologists, SLPs, TODs, social workers, early interventionists, surgical techs, nurses, the entire ecosystem of hearing health care. Looking at this OR photo of Dr. Daniela Carvalho and surgical tech Lisa Staples, I don’t just see a procedure. I see my childhood. I see the appointments. The mapping sessions. The therapy rooms. The IEP meetings. The adults who showed up over and over again to build a bridge between a tiny anatomical space… and a big, full life.
