🥳🥇 For the fourth year in a row, Rutgers–Newark has won the NJ Ballot Bowl, a statewide, non-partisan voter registration and engagement competition created by New Jersey Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of State Tahesha Way and led by students across NJ 🏆 Since 2018 Rutgers-Newark has won the competition, lapsing only during the pandemic in 2021, and this final year under Lt. Governor Way’s administration marks another proud milestone for our campus. This year, RU–N earned two major honors: 🏆 First Place in Our Conference (Conference 1: comprised of schools with more than 10,000 students) 🏆 First Place in Community Engagement for our deep involvement in the Newark community, encouraging off-campus residents to register and pledge to vote #InNewarkOfNewark 🗳️ Through the collective efforts of our student organizations, campus partners, and community collaborators, we collected 170 voter registration forms and 2,728 pledges to vote.
