Since my first time seeing Banff, I’ve always wanted to photograph the Northern Lights over Alberta. On this day, when I read the KP scale, I was so excited as there was a chance that the lights would show on the night. After a 2 hour drive on a pitch black highway, we got to the ice parkway icefield to prepare for our shoot. Unfortunately, after a few hours of waiting in the frozen cold, the light didn’t come. However, I still came away with one of my favourite Astro images that I’ve taken. It was so magical seeing the stars shine over the glaciers, and in that moment, I felt like all the effort was worth it.
