The threats against judges are sometimes online, sometimes in voicemails and now, a new form of intimidation: unsolicited pizzas have been sent to the homes of federal judges and their families in the name of Judge Esther Salas’s late son, Daniel, who was shot and killed by a failed litigant. The seemingly innocuous delivery sends an ominous message: “We know where you live. We know where your children live. And do you want to end up like Judge Salas’s son?” says Judge Salas. “They’re weaponizing my baby boy.
