Every mass shooter who was interviewed by researcher and professor of criminology Jillian Peterson told her that they could have been stopped. Peterson and James Densley are founders of the Violence Prevention Project, a St. Paul, Minnesota based nonprofit that studies mass shootings. Their research found more than 90% of school shooters warned others — online or in person — before attacking. “The best thing we can do to prevent violence is not to push kids out; it’s to pull them in,” Peterson says, advocating for more mental health resources in schools. #schoolsafety #schoolshooting #violenceprevention
