Could mass shooters have been stopped? Researcher Jillian Peterson says, “Every person we talked to said yes. One of them even said, ‘I think anyone could have stopped me.’" Peterson has studied hundreds of mass shootings and interviewed the gunmen themselves. Working with criminologist James Densley, she found that more than 90% of school shooters broadcast their plans — online or in person — before carrying out an attack.
