Breaking barriers in policy and industry, the Congressional Black Caucus introduced its inaugural beauty symposium during the Annual Legislative Conference (ALC)! Held on September 12, 2024, “Beauty Business Blueprint: Strategies for Equitable Growth” showcased valuable insights from Spelman faculty and alumnae. Dr. Rosalind Gregory-Bass, C’92, associate professor and director of the health careers program, along with Dr. Leyte L. Winfield, division chair of Natural Sciences & Mathematics & director of the cosmetic science program and Malaika Jones, C’2001, founder & CEO of Brown Girl Jane, shared their expertise on the beauty industry’s growth and its impact on the Black community.
