Love me some Lagoon 🌌 This is the story of how I captured the Lagoon Nebula from my backyard on August 4th 2024. Explanation: The Lagoon Nebula (Messier 8 or M8) is a vast, star-forming region located in the constellation Sagittarius, approximately 4,000 light-years away from Earth. It’s a giant interstellar cloud of gas and dust, spanning around 100 light-years across, giving birth to new stars. The nebula’s name comes from the lagoon-like shape of its central region, visible through telescopes.
