At the 2026 Actor Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, Michelle Williams reflected on James Van Der Beek's death after being asked if he was on her mind when she collected an award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series for her role in 'Dying for Sex'. ⁣ Williams said she's been keeping her Dawson's Creek co-star and his family "constantly" in her thoughts. She then added, “I also just want to say it’s been such an amazing thing as James is a friend and a friend of the family to see the response in the wake of his passing.”⁣ ⁣ Williams was referencing a GoFundMe that was created to raise money for Van Der Beek’s family in the wake of his death.
