Today, we celebrate the legacy of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. and his historic Uptown connections. In 1961, Dr. King spoke to nearly 400 students from Columbia and other New York City colleges at Miller Theatre. And in 1967, at Riverside Church, Dr. King delivered a landmark speech opposing the Vietnam War to a crowd of 3,000 people. Visit the link in our bio to learn about volunteer opportunities in Uptown Manhattan to commemorate Dr. King’s history of service and social impact. 📷 RiversideNYC, Columbia_RBML, MillerTheatreAtCU #ColumbiaUniversity #MartinLutherKingDay
