After the devastating flooding from Hurricane Helene in September 2024, Girl Scout Lillian knew she had to help. So she turned to books. She collected and donated more than 1,000 books and media items to three branches of her county public library in North Carolina, many of which were heavily damaged or completely destroyed. She also rallied support for a local library, temporarily stepping in for a branch that remains closed more than a year later. And because that still wasn’t enough, Lillian earned her American Red Cross Ambassador certification and now leads emergency preparedness workshops throughout her community. 👊📚 #gsSilverAward
