Where Is Football Explores: itsawrapper’s “Fútbol Is Life” at LACMA
Last month, the Where Is Football community took to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) to see itsawrapper’s new exhibit, “Fútbol Is Life.” We had the chance to meet with artist Lyndon J. Barrois, Sr. to discuss the significance of the moments and footballers highlighted in his new “Fútbol Is Life” exhibit, as well as the craft and technique that Lyndon has refined in his practice over decades.
From seeing the inclusion of Iranian women seeking to be allowed in their stadiums to protests around past World Cups not lifting up local communities, it was particularly meaningful to see WIF storytelling intertwine with the exhibition so seamlessly.
We also discussed the importance of football as a platform and vehicle for social good, with both our work with the United Nations’ Football For The Goals initiative and our intention to gather minds connected through the beautiful game for constructive conversations...
