Last month, a call to a collision in Bellfield led to an unexpected rescue.⁣ ⁣ Leading Senior Constable Kew attended the scene on Grampians Road, where sadly a mother kangaroo didn’t survive. After conducting a pouch check, a tiny joey was located alive and well. 🦘⁣ ⁣ The uninjured (and very lucky) little one was safely rescued and taken to a local wildlife shelter, where he’s expected to make a full recovery. ⁣ ⁣ This #WorldWildlifeDay, we’re reminding everyone that our roads are shared with wildlife, especially in regional areas.⁣ ⁣ If you need to stop for wildlife, please remember:⁣ 🚗 Only stop if it is safe to do so.⁣ 💡 Stay visible.
