Turn your sound up to hear this animal's ferocious growls. 🔊 Wolverines, the largest land-dwelling species in the mustelid family, are famous for their tenacity — they've been known to prey on animals as big as moose. Yet their tenacity alone cannot save them from the threats they face including dwindling, unprotected habitat. Wolverines were protected as threatened under the Endangered Species Act in 2023, but still haven’t received protections for the places they live. That's why last week we sued the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for failing to designate critical habitat for these carnivores.
