This past year has been one of self-discovery for
#Eureka O'Hara, and now the
#RuPaulsDragRace and
#WereHere star has come out as trans. In an interview with People, she shared that she hopes her story "teaches people that gender is a journey, and we are ever-evolving people." Eureka previously identified as a cisgender gay man, then lived as a trans woman from the ages of 18 to 22 before identifying as non-binary. She has been on hormone replacement therapy for the past seven months and is also "taking steps toward a physical transformation." Her "re-transition" story is explored in the two-part episode of
#HBO's 'We're Here' (which debuted on December 23) set in Florida. In the episodes, Eureka bonds with two trans individuals: Dempsey, a young trans girl, and Mandy, who transitioned at 70.
