State Rep. #BryanSlaton announced Today (June 6) that he’s going to file a bill to ban drag shows in the presence of minors. “Drag shows are no place for a child,” the #Republican legislator posted on Twitter. NYC-based drag artist and activist martigcummings responded on twitter to the news on #Twitter writing, “Conservatives should spend more time caring about people being shot everyday by their guns laws than criminalizing trans people and trying ban drag shows.” This isn’t the first nonsense anti-#LGBTQ bill to be introduced or pass the #TxLeg, with bans on trans youth in sports as well as executive actions against trans kids and their families.
