Cause of fire has not been released yet. — March 4th, 2026. 3:32pm: Units responded to a reported vegetation fire, fire was approximately 0.5 acres. The Heil Ranch fire is located approximately 12 miles north from Boulder and 1.5 miles west of the Foothills hwy. The fire is burning in the 2020 Calwood burn scar. A Firehawk helicopter from DFPC was assisting and carried out water drops, refilling from Allen’s Lake. 5:59pm: Boulder County Sheriff’s Office on facebook released a post saying that the fire is 70% contained at 7.6 acres. “they’re not concerned about the fire right now”. No structures were impacted or at risk.
