After decades of fighting, Grambling State University has officially secured a federal trademark for their historic “G” logo. The registration of the mark, which has been in use since the 1970s, had gone through several attempts and refusals, mostly due to it being similar to marks associated with the Green Bay Packers and University of Georgia. 📍A release on the grambling1901 website earlier this week states: “This milestone follows a strategic and collaborative process led by the Division of Administration and Business Affairs, working closely with external counsel, Kean Miller, to address prior refusals and navigate complex considerations involving other nationally recognized “G” marks, including those associated with the Green Bay Packers and University of Georgia.
