She helped make it.
In 1958, teacher Clara Luper led her students in one of the first successful sit-ins at a segregated lunch counter in Oklahoma City.
They returned day after day until the counter integrated.
She believed young people weren’t the future of change — they were the present.
This Women’s History Month, we honor the women who built what we stand on.
She marched.
