Campus organization Mizzou Empowers Refugees and Immigrants held their first info session since 2022 on Feb. 9, and their first official meeting will be on March 9. The organization hopes to foster new relationships between Mizzou students and the Columbia community. “I just want to do anything I can to make it easier or help them not feel so alienated,” said Mia Abnos, MERI vice president of marketing. “Hopefully, when we grow MERI to an org where we can be informing them about common things, but before it's an awkward thing for them to learn the hard way.
