The trigger for me choosing to walk with Christ was seminary. I came to know the Church through my girlfriend because she talked to me about her faith. My mother felt a bit hesitant because of her past experiences. I also felt hesitant because of different customs and the general fear people have about joining any church. I was at my girlfriend’s house, and her mother, a seminary teacher at the time, invited me to go to seminary. I said yes. During that very first seminary class, I was struggling a lot—I was having a hard time forgiving someone in my life. The lesson that day, from the New Testament, was all about forgiveness. I could clearly feel that the lesson was made just for me. And since then, I haven’t stopped going to seminary.
