The bill would have allowed the governor to appoint the PSC president and associate commissioners from a list of candidates selected by the Speaker of the House and the Senate president pro tem. Tuberville had backed the bill, arguing earlier this month that more qualified PSC members were needed to strengthen the state’s ability to recruit businesses.
