Paul Scholes turned on his old friend Michael Carrick last night, branding Manchester United 'c**p' under his leadership after his first defeat in eight games. United were beaten 2-1 by Newcastle after William Osula's stunning 90th-minute winner at St James' Park, where Carrick grew up watching football. The result left them third in the Premier League but the gap to sixth-placed Liverpool is just three points after Chelsea's 4-1 win at Aston Villa. In a now-deleted Instagram story, Scholes posted overnight: 'Michael has definitely got something special about him... cos United have been c***p last four games... night'. Scholes added a kissing face emoji, before writing 'Tonali' and following the Newcastle star's name with a love heart. United had been scraping results in the games before this, drawing at relegation battlers West Ham before narrow wins over Everton and Crystal Palace. #manchesterunited #mufc #manunited #scholes #carrick
