When you’re not wearing a dress, print one instead! Today, March 6th, is National Dress Day. For today, Jared letterpress printed one of the largest electrotypes from the Lewis Winter Collection. This electrotype (copy of a woodcut) was made in the 1890s. Lewis Winter made a variety of cuts as advertisement pieces in newspapers and magazines at his wood and photo engraving business at 627 J Street in Sacramento from 1888 to 1910. This print depicts a woman wearing a nice dress and cape highlighting fashion of that era.
