Today’s activity: sending a 114-lb 11-month-old wolfhound flying down a FastCAT track 😂 For those of you who have been following us for a while, you know that Sully has been doing FastCAT for years. He’s now retired for obvious reasons, but I always thought it might be fun for Róisín to give it a try. This weekend, Time To Fly and the savannah_kennel_club are hosting four days of CAT and FastCAT trials right here in town, so I signed Róisín up for some bunny hops to see if it piqued her interest. For those unfamiliar with FastCAT, there are a few different types of runs dogs can participate in. The first is the regular run, where dogs aged 1+ who are registered with AKC (or through the PAL program) can earn points toward titles. The second is a fun run, which is exactly what it sounds like - dogs get to try the course and owners can see if it’s something they’d enjoy pursuing.
