In a rematch of last season’s Class 5A semifinal, Dowling Catholic and Waukee Northwest faced off for a spot in the title game on Thursday, March 5. The Maroons won last year’s matchup by five points, but they couldn’t pull off back-to-back wins over the Wolves in the Iowa high school girls state basketball tournament. Instead, Northwest came out on top, beating Dowling, 56-50, in overtime to advance to the championship game against Johnston.
