On mile 1,287 of our travels in 2026, we visited a stadium that quite literally changed the game here in the States.
Inter & Co Stadium opened up in 2017, at a time when safe standing supporters’ sections did not exist in our country. It almost sounds too crazy to say (since now these have become the norm), but back then, this key design feature was almost exclusively seen in places like Germany, Scotland, and a few other destinations across European football.
Right as these types of stands were growing in popularity around the world in the mid-2010s, Orlando City SC was in the midst of building their own stadium. And that’s when the fans stepped in with a brilliant request.
