For this year’s Asian American and Pacific Islander heritage assembly, AASA proudly presented “Asian-Americans in Action,” a celebration of community, tradition, and the best of what unifies us as Americans.
Segments featured a traditional dragon dance and interviews with Asian-American leaders in the DMV, a fashion show, and much more showcasing the crossroads between Asian and American culture.
The ceremony concluded by honoring 2024 graduate Mai-Lien Cao with the inaugural AASA Alumni Award for her ongoing dedication to O’Connell’s Asian, Pacific-Islander, and Middle Eastern communities. Mr. Crittenberger was also honored with a Hilo Maile lei, a Polynesian tradition symbolizing respect for leaders. AASA honors his service to Bishop O’Connell High School.
