At nearly 9 months pregnant, my hormones can’t handle this. 😭🩷 My mom is responsible for my lifelong love of Barbie and for the gift of a mindset that made me believe that if I worked hard enough, for long enough, anything was possible in this life. She bought me my first astronaut Barbie doll, and so many more, and spent hours playing on the floor building my imagination & self-confidence & belief that girls can do anything. So after nearly four decades of unconditional love and unbounded encouragement, what a gift it was to bring my mom to Mattel HQ and to show her my very own astronaut Barbie, made in my likeness to celebrate my induction as a Barbie Role Model.
