This Friday, we highlight MIDN 1/C Jake McGowan. A Political Science major from Sioux City, Iowa, Jake serves in several key leadership roles, including Vice President of the Catholic Midshipmen Club and Protocol Staff Usher. His commitment to the Brigade is matched by a remarkable family legacy of service; as the son of an Air Force veteran and the grandson of a Vietnam-era flight surgeon, Jake is one of six siblings, five of whom are currently serving or training in the military. Jake’s journey at the Academy has been marked by global perspectives and a strong sense of community. From attending the Navy-Notre Dame game in Dublin to completing a Language, Regional Expertise, and Culture (LREC) trip to Poland, he has embraced the unique opportunities provided by the Naval Academy.
