It’s finally time for the grand reveal! I’m not even sorry it took three posts to announce, because this trip is far too special to be casual about. Several of you guessed it: the reason I was in Paris was to board the legendary Venice Simplon-Orient-Express... something I’ve dreamed about doing for years! Long before planes or private jets, this was the most glamorous way to travel through Europe. Royalty, cultural icons and fascinating characters have all passed through these carriages over the decades. I kept thinking the whole time… if only these walls could talk! What makes it even more incredible is how thoughtfully everything has been preserved. The Art Deco carriages, the Lalique glass, the tiny details everywhere you look.
