A quick baby update: We just entered the second trimester 💛 This milestone means a lot to us. Because of the inverted chromosome, there is a higher risk of miscarriage, so reaching this stage lowers that risk and feels like a big relief. The DNA tests came back partly reassuring. The good news is that the baby has the normal number of chromosomes and everything so far looks like a healthy pregnancy. The other part is that the baby appears to have the same inverted chromosome as Ross, which may mean higher chances of fertility challenges later in life. We’ll cross that bridge when the time comes and add it to the future list of difficult parent-child conversations to have 😂. For now, we’re simply grateful that the baby is healthy.
