One of the most underrated places to catch a soccer game in the US ⬇️ 📍 Asheville, NC (Asheville City SC) Asheville City SC was founded in 2016, after six old high school friends found an article about how to start a team from scratch. It was only supposed to be a fun hobby, until a few months later, the club played its first-ever game in front of 2,000+ people. Soon enough, it turned into something much more real, steadily growing over the years. Then, Hurricane Helene struck, and the bond with the community they’d served for nearly a decade grew even stronger. At the start of 2025, the club hosted the first sporting event in Asheville since the hurricane, squaring off against Greenville Triumph in the first round of the US Open Cup. It was a cathartic moment for the city, and we had the honor of driving our bus to the game and covering the match. From the roped off field in the middle of the woods to the lone apartment building towering above us just meters away from the pitch...
