In the 11 counties surrounding Chattanooga, seven libraries flagged a total of 15 books, most of which were moved to other sections that require a parent or guardian to approve before checkout. The Tennessee secretary of state had directed staff at libraries that receive state and federal funding, and are part of the state's regional library system, to identify books that might violate state laws or an executive order from President Donald Trump concerning gender ideology.
