LOWER BACK LOVE
-
Quick tips to help you future proof those lower backs:
1: Mobility can be a great way to begin your workout as you prep/warmup the body for more intense movements.
2: Strengthen: Our spines are a lot more resilient than we give them credit for. Train your spines and lower backs through extension/hinging and rotational patterns.
- Rotational extensions are one of my favourite ways to target multiple lower back muscles and stabilizers
-Offset carries are great way to help the strengthen the stabilizers of the spine.
3: Stretching: Done at the end of a workout. We often times tend to skip this phase of training. Stretches are great for cooling down after our big lifts and bring some solid temporary relief to those lower backs.
- Lateral Chain Stretch targets the hips, Lats, QL, IT bands
- Lower Back Hug Stretch Targets lower back with emphasizes on flexion provided by the ball tucked into the hips
Hope this helps
As always,
Peace and Movement ✌🏽
