Wrexham hosted Chelsea in the Fifth Round of the Emirates FA Cup, looking to cause another iconic cup upset over a Premier League side. The hosts took the lead early thanks to an excellent Sam Smith effort before Alejandro Garnacho’s rebounded shot levelled the score for the visitors. Late into the second-half Wrexham managed to take a crucial lead thanks to Callum Doyle… but their advantage was short-lived as Josh Acheampong managed to tie the score for the Blues just three minutes later. Neither side was able to find a winner in regular time, sending the Racecourse Ground to extra-time.
