A few weeks ago, one of our athletes from thehybridengine reached out asking this:
“I wanted to ask if you have any advice for me in view of the races to better manage the emotions and the moments before the race?”
I think this is such a valuable question. My answer may not work for everyone. I just hope it can help others out there to see my perspective on racing.
This was my response:
“I try to put this out in my social media as much as possible. But I don’t think people believe that it’s the truth. Managing emotions during a races doesn’t start at the start line for me. I prioritize the things that are truly important to me in my life and give them the forefront of attention. That’s my family and home life. I don’t allow them to have to sacrifice for my goals and dreams. If there is something I need to do to better myself, the sacrifice will come only from me.
