Lactate threshold testing to make sure I’m both not overworking and not sandbagging my quality workouts.
I haven’t tested these for quite some time now. It’s easy to hide from data that you don’t test. But once it’s on paper, there is no hiding from it.
There’s always a little fear around testing. If the numbers show progress, that means harder intervals ahead. If there’s no change, it can feel like a setback, even if gains were made elsewhere.
And honestly, setting up for testing feels tedious compared to just diving into a workout. But that mindset is shifting. Gathering data is training. The more I understand, the better I can perform.
If you’re curious about how I test, what my numbers were, or how I use this data to structure my training, I’m dropping a YouTube video tomorrow with all the details.
