Double unders are a simple but sneaky skill that challenges your rhythm, timing, and control.
If you’re struggling to get consistent, here are some strategies to focus on:
• Keep your wrists relaxed and fast. Your wrist should power the rope, not your arms.
• Jump just high enough. Try to aim for efficiency and not for height.
• Stay tall through your spine with a slight lean forward. (This one can take some time)
• Land softly on the balls of your feet to stay springy and in control. (Also a great calf exercise!)
Try to avoid these mistakes:
• Big arm circles. Big arms slow down your rope and will waste energy.
• Tucking your knees up instead of jumping straight.
• Looking down. This will break your posture and throw off your timing.
• Holding your breath. It creates tension which can lead to missed reps.
I hope this helps!
