Sweet traditions in the heart of Kyoto 🍡✨   Our students stepped into the world of traditional Japanese sweets during a hands-on wagashi making workshop. Wagashi are delicate seasonal confections often served with tea, known for their intricate designs and subtle flavors. Every detail, from color to shape, reflects nature and the time of year.   Guided by local instructors, students shaped, colored, and crafted their own sweets while learning about the cultural meaning behind the art. What may look like a simple dessert is actually centuries of artistry, symbolism, and intention. Moments like this remind us that cultural learning can happen in the smallest details. Through food, students not only got to try something new, but gained a deeper appreciation for Japanese aesthetics, hospitality, and tradition.   Safe to say, they were almost too kawaii to eat 🍵🌸   #CIEE #cieekyoto #studyabroad #kyotolife #japaneseculture
